let the unpacking begin!

The POD came, was unpacked, and went; we have furniture. Slowly we are hauling things back from the nearby storage unit, box by box, and unpacking. Sometimes, it feels like Christmas (oh, I forgot about this! How lovely!) Sometimes it's embarrassing (why did I save this?) Or frustrating (where am I going to put this?). We've been living without for several months now -- not in the starving-in-Africa kind of way, admittedly -- but in the "essentials only" kind of way. One set of cutlery, one set of dishes, and literally no where to sit but the floor or one of 4 wooden chairs. Once the furniture returned, things started closing in, but we still had that sparse, minimalist look happening. No knick-knacks, no personal touches, very little colour; a blank canvas. It was sort of peaceful, calming.... like living in an IKEA showroom, or an art installation, and my favourite view was this one....

    One of these things is not like the others. One of these things doesn't belong.

    So glad you are putting your life back together!!
